| The Capresso MT600 coffee maker with stainless steel thermal carafe brews 10-cups of coffee in under 8 minutes for maximum flavor and aroma. The milled steel housing provides superior strength and style. 10-cup stainless steel thermal carafe with ergonomic handle, brew-through closed lid with drip-free pouring spout keeps coffee hot for hours and preserves aroma. Stainless steel lined heating system eliminate contact with aluminum and reduces the need for decalcifying. The included gold tone filter is easy to clean and eliminates the need for paper filters. Drip stop allows you to pour a cup while brewing. Charcoal water filter removes up to 82-percent of chlorine and other impurities from tap water. One charcoal filter and holder is included. Illuminated 24-hour programmable lcd digital clock/timer with soft touch controls. Special setting provides maximum aroma when brewing 3-5 cups. An electronic filter indicator shows when to replace the charcoal filter. Electronics retain all programming during short power outages. |

I've had them all - KitchenAid, Braun, Krups, Cuisinart, Capresso ST600 and the new MT600 tops them all!
The Good:
Piping Hot Coffee - 180 degrees in the Carafe after brewing.
Hot brew temperature really pulls the flavor out of the coffee.
Cone Shaped Filter (I do not like the basket type).
Easy to use timer.
Brews fast, 10 cups in about 6 minutes.
Stainless Steel Heating System.
Small footprint on counter, only 8" x 9" x 14".
Carafe does not drip when pouring.
Carafe keeps coffee hot for hours.
Cord storage in the body.
Very classy looking on the counter.
The Bad:
Water level indicator on the side is difficult to see while pouring water in the reservoir.
This is a great choice if you are looking for a Thermal Carafe unit that brews coffee hot enough to not require microwaving. |

We've now brewed 5 pots with the MT600 and we like it a lot. We normally make 8 cups and it finishes in just under 6 minutes. Coffee is pleasantly hot, needs blowing before sipping for us. Strength with DD ground coffee is nice and rich with one slightly rounded scoop per cup. Carafe has positive click on lid to let you know when it is properly seated yet doesn't get tight when it's time to loosen to pour. Filter holder has nicely designed engagement hook that ensures that it stays put when the pot is placed underneath. Carafe keeps the coffee drinkable for a couple of hours after that we hit a cup with 30 seconds in the microwave.
Easy to fill and for me the fill indicator is easy to see.
It's definitely a keeper.

| I have owned numerous coffee makers over the years. This is my first Capresso. I have read many reviews for the MT 500 so I decided to try the new MT 600. It is a classy looking coffee maker, to start. I don't understand why some people have not been getting hot and strong coffee like I am, although I suppose there could be issues with individual makers. My Capresso works flawlessly. The thermal carafe works perfectly every time, allowing the coffee to flow evenly into the cup without a spill. It keeps my coffee very hot up to the last cup, which may need a few seconds in the micro. The coffee tastes wonderfully rich every time. I grind my beans using a burr grinder, so perhaps that is one reason for the rich and full flavor. But overall, I think this is the finest coffee maker I have ever owned. |

Performs wonderfully. The carafe keeps the coffee warm for a long time. It is nice not to have to worry about turning the machine off when we leave.
And, most importantly, the coffee is excellent! |

I've never written a review for anything before, so here goes.
I ordered my Capresso MT600 on a Saturday and got it on the following Wednesday. I've only had it a few days, but here's my opinion so far.... It seems to be a very well designed coffee maker with a very nice insulated carafe. In fact, I brewed a pot of coffee before work today at about 6 a.m., and when I got home from work at about 2 p.m., the leftover coffee I poured out was still warm. It wasn't steaming hot, but I was still very impressed. The coffee tastes great, it brews fast, it brews hot and I haven't had any issues with the coffee going everywhere during the brewing process. If I had to name a few "negatives" then I suppose I would start with the price. I don't regret buying this coffee maker one bit, but for those of you that want a great tasting cup of coffee, the Cuisinart DCC-1200 makes a great cup of coffee for literally half the price (I previously owned one of those as well). Also, the lid to the coffee maker could be a little more stable, but so far so good. Filling the water resevoir can be a bit tricky as well. My last coffee maker had a glass carafe, so I just filled the carafe with the amount of cups I wanted to brew. There's no great way to do it, but the worst case scenario is you either have to walk back to your sink and get more water, or make more coffee than you intended. All in all I'd say this is a solid machine that I hope to use for a long time. I would definitely recommend this product. |
